Getting Started

UtiBills lives entirely inside WhatsApp. There is no app to download, no account to create, and no website to log into. Open WhatsApp, start a chat with UtiBills, and say hi.

Step 1 — Start the chat

Message the UtiBills number on WhatsApp. The bot will introduce itself and ask for your name. You can use your WhatsApp profile name or type a different one — either works.

Step 2 — Add your first bill

Pick a service type, then pick your provider, then send your account or meter number. The bot asks you to give the bill a nickname (like "Home" or "Apt 1") and optionally set a recipient who should receive payment notifications.

Step 3 — Make your first payment

Say "pay home electricity" (or whatever nickname you gave it). The bot shows a payment summary. Confirm with YES, then approve the M-Pesa or MTN MoMo prompt on your phone. Done.
